JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for assisting in the maintenance of the facility to provide a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for patients, staff visitors.

Reports to:  Facility Engineer

Supervises:  None

Classification: Non-Exempt

QUALIFICATIONS 

Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum two years experience in building mechanical equipment.

Proficient in MS Office applications which include Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE

Category III exposure to bloodborne pathogens and may encounter chemical hazards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Repair Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing repairs as appropriate.
  2. Responsible for maintenance and beautification of facility and grounds.
  3. Conducts scheduled maintenance throughout facility and for equipment.
  4. Maintains and tests the emergency power system to ensure availability of power to all entrances, exits, fire detection alarms and extinguishing equipment, and life support systems.
  5. Maintains all essential equipment (e.g., boiler room equipment, nursing unit/medication, etc.) in a safe operating condition.

The employee must be able to life and/or carry over 20 pounds on a regular basis and be able to push/pull over 25 pounds on a regular basis.

The employee must be able to stand and/or walk at least five hours per day.
